Argyle Gators Go Green!

25 Acts of Energy Conservation is a K to 12, province-wide action campaign that promotes energy conservation all school year, culminating in a month of daily activities between Earth Hour and Earth Day (March 23 to April 27).

Mr. Norman’s Grade 7/8 class has decided to become involved with the 25 Acts of Conservation campaign through an inquiry-based project centered around the essential question of “How does access to resources allow communities to remain the same or respond to change?

Students from Mr. Norman’s class have visited the various student grades in Argyle School to speak about the reasons “why” they are trying to preserve energy to save the environment and to raise awareness of its importance as well. The Grade 7/8 class is hoping the Argyle student body and their families will get involved in their efforts to make a positive change in the community.

How does it work, you ask? Each student in Argyle School has been given a Bingo card filled with various acts of conservation. Each completed Bingo card line gets your family entered into a draw for a $250.00 prize package. To receive an extra entry in the draw, send pictures via Twitter showing you or your family performing the various acts of conservation using the hashtag #25acts and mentioning @argyleschoolSK. All entries must be received by Monday, March 23rd with the draw for the prize pack taking place Wednesday, March 25th.

We want to thank our Grade 7/8 class and Mr. Norman for taking the initiative to get our school community involved in this very important initiative. Let’s work together in making our planet a better place to live!

Mr. McKeown
