Every year at this time our school focuses on generosity and helping others. In the past we have raised money for school supplies for children in Ethiopia, pennies for clean water in Haiti, shoes for children in Peru and money for the Saskatchewan Children’s Hospital.
This year our focus was to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Regina in conjunction with Z99’s Radiothon…Saving Babies Lives. Although Regina has one of the best NICU’s in Canada, it is through the radiothon that critical life-saving equipment is purchased to make it a state-of-the-art and up-to-date facility.
On Friday, March 13th our school held a short assembly to kick-off this fundraising event and from March 16th through to March 19th our students and staff collected money towards this important cause. For every $5.00 raised, a teddy bear was placed in the front hallway to track our progress.
We are very proud to announce that Argyle School students and families, along with involvement from our friends in Gator Park Co-operative Child Care Centre in four short days were able to raise $1105.50. WAY TO GO ARGYLE GATORS!!! We feel very fortunate to be a part of such a generous and caring community.
Thank you for your support and cooperation.
