After having a presentation from the Regina Humane Society and learning all about the wonderful work that they do to help animals, the Grade 4, 4/5 and 5/6 students at Argyle School were inspired to leap into action. They wanted to do their part to help some of the animals at the shelter find their “fur-ever” homes. The students decided that participating in the National Cupcake Day fundraiser would be a profitable (and tasty) way to help. On February 12th, the air was filled with the sweet smell of cupcakes and caring. Students in all 3 classes generously donated a delicious assortment of cupcakes and invited all of the classes in the school to buy a cupcake for 50 cents. They had an overwhelming number of donations and purchases which resulted in a grand total of $520.00 being raised in just two days! In the spirit of true Gator Generosity, the money will be used to help sponsor the adoption of 3 cats and 2 dogs. The students and their teachers were very proud of the success of the fundraiser and thank everyone who participated!
