With winter break approaching (December 19th-January 3rd inclusive) it is a great time to look back at what has been a wonderful first 72 days of school, as of December 18th. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by, and yet, as I look back it is amazing at all that has gone on here at Argyle School since we reconvened in the fall.
It has been a true honour to work alongside the talented and creative staff of Argyle School. Personally, I have learned so much from this team and know that, daily, our students do too. This is a tremendous community to be a part of and it starts with the team pictured below (including the missing Mrs. Benoit and Ms. Joe). A special thanks to our support staff including: EA’s Mrs. Burns, Mrs. Mercado, Mrs. Roman, and the newly appointed Ms. Joe; our facilities operators Mr. De La Cruz and Mr. Dieter; and the irreplaceable administrative assistant Mrs. Rakochy. The work being done here on behalf of our students is inspiring and demonstrates a care for our community that makes this a tremendous place to learn and grow.
Many of you are aware of the work that Mrs. Vonau does around our school but the image below demonstrates just one more of the connections she has in the community. Santa shared his Gator list with her to be posted at the school and there are some concerned students about where their names have been found…I am sure some things will change if I know Mrs. Vonau.
I would be remiss if I didn’t publically thank Mrs. Flaten-Orr, Mrs. Leupold, Mrs. Pominville, Mrs. Tsang, Mrs. Paoli and the rest of their team for the awesome work that went into the winter concert production of, “Celebrations in our Town.” This show was definitely a reflection of who we are as a school, community, and city. Way to go Gators…I am so proud of you!!!
Also, a big thanks to our SCC who hosted a Hot Chocolate Social after the performance where community continued to be built. If you have any interest in joining our SCC or serving alongside them please email argylescc@gmail.com
The months ahead promise to be filled with continued successes and learning; I certainly look forward to experiencing these with all of you.
